New version released!
1.3.4, a bug fix release was made available yesterday pm. There will probably be one more bug fix release, 1.3.5 before 1.4.
1.4 is planned to be the first release solely compatible with Thunderbird 3 (assuming its out of beta by then). Maintaining compatibility with 2 versions (with different capabilities and classes) is too difficult.
[2009-08-05]
just made a few new wallpapers so added them to the wallpaper section.
[2009-05-31]
Lots of new wallpapers have been uploaded, including many new 1920x1200 ones.
[2008-09-21]
There's a new version out now with new features. Update from within Thunderbird or go to the project page.
[2007-03-07]
Version 0.7 available now. If you have it installed already it should update from within Thunderbird.
[2007-01-14]
Version 0.6.7 is now out. Get it from either the downloads page or the Moz. Extensions page. See changelog for full details.
[2006-08-23]
Version 0.6 is now out. Get it from either the downloads page or the Moz. Extensions page.
[2006-02-03]
Version 0.4.2 is available in the usual place. No new features, but small bugfixes and lots of new localisations (languages)
[2005-08-06]
Version 0.4 of Attachment Extractor is out now. Get it from the 'my software' section as usual.
[2005-05-02]
I've updated the Thunderbird extension, attachment extractor. See the project page for more details of version 0.3. Anyone who has installed previous versions can use Thunderbirds update feature. Let me know about any bugs, etc.
[2005-03-04]
I've been a busy bee writing my first extension for the Thunderbird mail client.
It rocks. If you arn't in the know, Thunderbird is an open source (free) email program from the people who make Mozilla and Firefox and an extension is a bit of extra functionality you can download for extra goodiness. Its available in the the
my software section on the left.
[2005-01-13]
I went on a short trip to The Big Apple a few months ago. A collection of pretentious photographs can now be viewed in the gallery.
[2004-12-04]
You can now access this immesurably useful resource from www.eviljeff.co.uk (it will instantly redirect to www.eviljeff.com). A huge step forward for mankind i'm sure you'll agree.
[2004-09-05]
This website has permanently moved to www.eviljeff.com
as you would have probably noticed on your way here.
Now i don't believe anyone actually bookmarks this site but on the off-chance then you should update your bookmarks.
[2004-03-31]
After much testing the sliding menu code has been introduced (have a look at the menu items on the left, be amazed!)
If this isn't working then get a decent browser, such as
firefox, because i've tested this page on the latest released versions of IE & Mozilla/Firefox and it works fine.
Any contructive comments would be welcome either via the guestbook or directly to me.
[2004-03-31]
The entire site should now be HTML 4.01 Strict compliant now. This basically means i've had to rewrite parts of the html code so it follows the WWW Consortium's web standards.
[2004-03-30]
Spot the radical new design. A huge departure I'll bet everyone is thinking.
Well, its more of a surface tidy-up and a background rewrite.
If you're interested: I've replaced the lumbersome table-based menu on the side with a leaner div-based approached. Not only did this exercise reduce code complexity but the site is now HTML 4.01 Transistional complient. Well, the main page is; and hopefully the rest are but one|two|ten pages might have got away with a few errors. The sliding menu code is coming soon, I promise.
[2004-02-23]
Anyone who was anyone was at our shindig on new years eve. You can check out the photos in the photo gallery section.
[2004-01-18]
New Content! Horrah!
Due to the aquisitition of a digital camera (for an xmas pressie) i now have digital images to share with the world and have therefore created a photo section. Check it out.
[2004-01-10]
Just noticed the hit-counter has been missing site-wide since the last site update (9th November). Whoops.
Its back now but the literally thousands of people who checked the site in the mean time won't have been counted.
[2004-01-01]
More wallpapers of Charlize Theron are available in the wallpaper section.
There are 3 versions of #5 with different amounts of space at the bottom of each so Charlize can lie along the edge of your screen, depending on how large your taskbar is.
[2003-11-16]
I've finally gotten around to finishing the code redesign so the menu on the left can expand as you put your mouse over. It's not exactly a major change from an aesthetic point of view and unless you understand DHTML and style-sheets and PHP then you won't have any idea of how much of a rewrite it took to do such a simple thing (and keep the design apparently the same on the surface).
It is actually the first step in the plan to make the pages more dynamic and will be first of many subtle changes in design (which take ages to code up and integrate correctly). More soon!
[2003-11-09]
One of my fellow house-mates,
thom, has created the Batesstreet Comic. Check it out on
Clive's homepage.
[2003-10-10]
Portland have decided to remove PHP scripting support from their free webhosting package so it is now effectively useless as a host.
So now cgi.batesstreet.plus.com/ej/
will be the main host of my website, rather than just a mirror.
I'm really quite annoyed at the way Portland have gone about this and removed my website (for all intents and purposes). A re-direct page will stay on eviljeff.port5.com until they decide to dump the free hosting entirely.
[2003-10-10]
The Wallpaper section has been updated, (as i earlier promised). It is now split into categories (pages) with probably a page for each subject/person.
To christen this slight re-org there are now an additional 5 pictures of Sarah Michelle Gellar in her category, and a category for gorgeous Charlize Theron. There are only a few 'papers of her at the moment but more will come.
shazaam.
[2003-08-25]
After numerous iterations and re-designs of this site i've finally gotten around to implementing one of the most basic interactive elements of all... a hit-counter!
The code will be available in the
downloads section shortly when i've tidied it up. A graphical version will also be an option.
[2003-08-24]
I am working on a new design for this site. When complete it will (hopefully) be a fresh new style with more little cool bits, like dynamically cascading menus (using layers). This can be previewed here - though bare in mind its still buggy and a bit shit looking.
[2003-08-20]
Thats right folks - there is now a shiny new wallpaper section of my site where wallpapers for your desktop will be available to download.
At the moment there is only 5 wallpapers and they are all of the lovely Sarah Michelle Gellar (but thats no bad thing).
I will add more soon, promise.
[2003-08-16]
As of now this site is mirrored on my PlusNet webspace. So now you can access the same (lack of) content there.
p.s. Check out my houses website for an introduction to the 'weird'.
Thankyou please.
[2003-08-12]
If you look at the bottom of every page then you will see a 'site map' link. Click it. Its a tree of all the pages on this site - even hidden pages. Don't bother about the testpages though- they are just that; test pages.
[2003-06-06]
The site's back end code has been overhauled and the pages specified in XML rather than hard coded in PHP.
As a consequence of this, (well, this was the reason,) there are now sub-pages shown on the menu on the left.
This should hopefully make the site more useable and more easily navigated.
[2003-02-20]
The email contact address on the 'contact me' page was wrong:
it was "contact@eviljeff.port5.co.uk" when it should have been "contact@eviljeff.port5.com".
Its fixed now but any email sent to me through that address would have probably bounced.
[2003-02-18]
Theres a new version of ImageDB available now from the downloads page. Rejoice.
Its up to 0.52 now and is considerably more stable.
[2003-02-17]
The font size throughout the site has been reduced when i noticed that on medium browser font settings (i have it on smaller) the site looked crap. And the menu looked broken. fixed now!
[2002-11-04]
I've completed the 'sites i like' section.
It contains links (and a short description) to sites i like and use regularly.
[2002-10-12]
I've slightly updated the menu design on the left (look! see! be amazed!).
Its admittedly not a major re-working but it is more rounded and it suits the colour scheme better i think.
[2002-10-10]
I've added a handy little google search box to the menu on the left. Type in a normal search query; press the button; and there you go!
I'm considering adding a full search facility through google's sub-branding programme. Its a bit of an overkill though.
[2002-10-08]
the Guestbook is finished! (admittedly its filled with test entries at the moment)
Leave me an entry!
You can still contact me privately through the 'contact me' link
[2002-10-05]
I've altered the news section so it is now all stored within the sql database. This means you are now reading dynamically retrieved database content.
I'll do the guestbook next.
[2002-09-23]
I've found that despite my earlier assumption that Portland's free account did not have sql access, it does. Via PortlandSQL.
So i've signed up (after much form-filling) and started doing a guestbook.
[2002-09-21]
After spending hours looking through the badly organised PHP manual to try and understand very simple code i'm so annoyed with PHP i'm thinking of trying to find an alternative scripting language. What though? PHP is about the only one supported on Portland.
[2002-09-19]
I'm actually going to start writing the site now because for far too long i've been
pissing about with the design, constantly abstracting the structure of the site from the content, constantly making the site more maintainable... and i've not maintained or updated the content. go figure.
[2002-09-14]
I'm going to implement a guestbook but because this a free account i can't use an sql server.
XML seems like a good alternative though for some reason there isn't a reliable DOM based parser in PHP at the moment. And support for writing the XML again is absent. Bugger.
[2002-09-10]
Following a brainstorm i've re-done the graphics (and hence the entire graphical design) of the site.
Go me.
[2002-09-05]
I've re-written the site using PHP so i can get a cleaner design and so i don't have to rely on Perl CGI scripts to do anything more complicated than
generating menus. I suppose PHP is better than Perl. And it isn't Microsoft.
If only i could use Java servlets on a lovely
Tomcat server.
